CONFIDENTIAL 1. COMMUNIST SPONSORED YOUTH FESTIVAL IN SHEFFIELD (Previous reference: J.I.C.(52)9th Meeting, Minute 4 of 17th January, 1952). MR. REILLY referred to the Committee's previous discussion of the arrangements which were being made to hold a Communist aponsored Youth Festival in Sheffield this summer. Activities in connection with the Festival were being closely watched by the Information Research Department of the Foreign Office, who would shortly be calling a meeting of representatives of Departments concerned to discuss what action could be taken.
