CONFIDENTIAL MR. ANDERSON said that the article in the Financial Times giving details of a contract being placed with Jaguar Cars by the Ministry of Supply, for the manufacture of Meteor engines for tanks, had not been cleared with the Ministry of Supply, nor any of the Service Departments. The firm had had no secret contract since 1944 and had not been visited by a representative of the Security Service under the provisions of the S.E.I. Committee. They had, therefore, probably released the information to the press themselves.
