TOP SECRET THE COMMITTEE:(1) Took note with interest of the statement by General Scoones and thanked him for giving them the benefit of his views. (2) Invited the Commonwealth Relations Office to circulate a memorandum on the lines of the statement made by General Scoones. (3) Agreed, on receipt of the report at (2) above, to consider submitting a report to the Chiefs of Staff accordingly. GUARD CONFIDENTIAL 2. SITUATION ON TH SINO-BURMESE FRONTIER. VICE ADMIRAL LONGLEY COOK said that he had recently arranged for his Department to prepare a full appreciation of the present situation on the Sino-Burmese frontier, including the activities of third parties in the area.
