SECRET MR. REILLY said that this was a matter for which the Information Department of the Foreign Office was responsible and to which they were obviously paying much attention. If Directors were interested, he suggested that they should find out through Departmental Liaison Officers what actual steps the Information Department were taking. THE COMMITTEE:Took note of the above. SECRET 3. POTENTIAL THREAT TO THE BRITISH POSITION IN EGYPT. THE COMMITTEE considered a draft report+ examining the potential threat to the British position in Egypt in the event of a deadlock in Anglo-Egyptian negotiations.
