SECRET GROUP CAPTAIN MEARS said that he had noted from the Secretary's minute+ that Sir Henry Tizard had considered the available evidence in the Foreign Office but in addition to this source a considerable number of reports were held by A.I.9 in the Air Ministry, which had not so far been seen by Sir Henry Tizard. A.I.9 already had strong views on this subject and had, themselve carried out a comprehensive examination based on the material at their disposal. They would welcome the opportunity of assisting any body of experts which might be formed in order to carry out a thorough investigation.
