CONFIDENTIAL The Committee endorsed the suggestions of the Foreign Office and the War Office in discussion, and decided that the Joint Intelligence Staff should be instructed to prepare a report on the lines suggested by the Foreign Office, the terms of reference to be drafted by the Secretary for the approval of the Chairman. THE COMMITTEE:(1) Instructed the Secretary to prepare draft terms of reference for a report on British proposals on the security of information on the strength and dispositions of the armed forces within the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation, for clearance by telephone by the Chairman.
