SECRET MR. TOSELAND said that the Ministry of Supply were not so much concerned with the security of Philips, Eindhoven, as with the security of Mullards in this country. They were most anxious to employ Mullards, who were greatly in advance of any British firms in certain fields, but they did not feel that they could do so until the security position was clear. In discussion, it was agreed that a reply should be sent to Philips, Eindhoven, on the lines suggested by Mr. Carey-Foster. In regard to the security of Mullards, it was pointed out that this had been fully covered in previous reports+ on this subject.
