SECRET MR. JAGGERS said that the problem was more complicated in regard to the German scientists employed by the Ministry of Supply. It had been stated during the Committee's previous discussion that the crux of the problem appeared to be whether or not the German scientists were indispensable. Few, if any, of the Ministry of Supply scientific staff, British or German, were indispensable, but it would of course have an adverse effect on the progress of defence work if all the 61 Germans now employed by the Ministry of Supply were to be withdrawn.
