CONFIDENTIAL communicating their comments on the report direct to the Chairman, Joint Intelligence Committee, Far East. It was requested, however, that copies of these comments should be circulated to Departments for information. THE COMMITTEE:- (1) Took note of the report by the Joint Intelligence Committee, Far East. (2) Instructed the Secretary to invite the Joint Intelligence Committee, Far East, to re-examine the evidence of Russian assistance to the Chinese Communists, in June 1950 and to report.Ø (3) Invited the Foreign Office to forward their comments on the report by the Joint Intelligence Committee, Far East, to the Chairman of that Committee, and to circulate copies to Departments for information. Ø Subsequent to the meeting, the Secretary was informed (J.I.C.(FE) 152nd Meeting, Item 519) that the Joint Intelligence Committee (Far East) would consider revising their report in three months' time. This has been taken into account in the reply to the Joint Intelligence Committee (Far East). 3. YUGOSLAVIA - ARMS REQUIREMENTS SECRET (Previous Reference: J.I.C.(49) 114th Meeting, Minute 3). THE COMMITTEE considered a revised draft report+ examining the likely arms requirements of Yugoslavia. In discussion, certain amendments to the draft report were suggested and agreed. THE COMMITTEE:- Approved the report as amended in discussion, and instructed the Secretary to submit it to the Chiefs of Staff accordingly. + J.I.C.(49) 104 (Revised Draft). -2-
