3. INTELLIGENCE APPRECIATION FOR NORTHERN TOP SECRET EUROPEAN REGION MILITARY THREAT TO SCANDINAVIA 1950. THE COMMITTEE considered a draft report+ entitled "Intelligence Appreciation for Northern European Region Military Threat to Scandinavia 1950", which was required as a brief for tabling in the Intelligence Division of the Northern European Region. The draft report was considered paragraph by paragraph and certain amendments were suggested and approved. In regard to the statement in the cover note to the report that it had been cleared for security, it was pointed out that interim security arrangements were in force in the Northern European Regional Group pending agreement being reached by the Standing Group for the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation on the security procedure to be followed within that Organisation.
