RUSSIAN PREPAREDNESS FOR WAR TOP SECRET (Previous Reference: J.I.C.(49) 90th Meeting, Minute 1) THE COMMITTEE had their monthly discussion on evidence of Russian preparedness for war and the possibility of an offensive in the near future, and took note of telegrams+ on this subject from the Joint Intelligence Committee (Germany) and the Intelligence Organisation, Allied Commission for Austria (British Element). THE COMMITTEE:Maintained their view that there was at present no evidence of preparedness by the Russians for an offensive in the near future.
