2. SOVIET INTENTIONS AND CAPABILITIES TOP SECRET (Previous Reference: J.I.C.(49) 87th Meeting, Minute 1). THE COMMITTEE considered a telegram+ from the United Kingdom Intelligence Team engaged in Washington on the revision of the Combined Anglo/American Intelligence Appreciation-. In the telegram the Team asked that certain information might be supplied in connection with the combat efficiency of the armed forces of countries of the Western Union plus Italy and Spain during the period July 1950 to July 1951.
