THE COMMITTEE:Invited the Chairman to take note of their views as expressed in discussion, when replying to the Intelligence Representative on the British Army Staff in Washington. 3. SITUATION IN SOUTH CHINA TOP SECRET (Previous Reference: J.I.C.(49) 88th Meeting, Minute 1) THE COMMITTEE considered the suggestion made at their previous meeting that, in view of the development of the situation in South China, it might be desirable to amend the form of the periodical reportsto the Chiefs of Staff to cover more specifically the threat to Hong Kong.
