(a) (b) (c) (d) (2) (3) (4) TOP SECRET There was a danger that, as a result of the rapid development of German nationalism and the establishment of a German administration, our field of action in regard to the interrogation of these ex-prisoners of war might tend to become restricted. The Foreign Office undertook to find out what the legal position was in regard to this point. The interrogation of those ex-prisoners of war would have to be arranged in Germany at regional level. It should he suggested to the Joint Intelligence Committee, Germany, that this might be accomplished by diverting effort from some less urgent task.
