TOP SECRET 3. PRIORITIES OF TASKS FOR THE COLLECTION OF INTELLIGENCE INFORMATION IN AUSTRIA THE COMMITTEE considered a revised draft report+ listing priorities of tasks for the collection of intelligence information in Austria. MR. BRAIN drew attention to the possibility that an Austrian Treaty might be concluded in the near future probably taking effect early in 1950, and that a clause in this treaty might call for the withdrawal of all occupying forces from Austria within 90 days. This would involve an earlier rundown of these forces which would affect the collection of intelligence in Austria.
