TOP SECRET TOP SECRET 1. MEETING WITH SIR FREDERICK SHEDDEN MR. HAYTER, on behalf of the Committee, welcomed Sir Frederick Shedden, the Secretary, Department of Defence, Australia, and expressed their appreciation of having the opportunity to discuss with him matters affecting intelligence and security of common interest to Australia and the United Kingdom. SIR FREDERICK SHEDDEN informed the Committee of the progress that had been made in the establishment of a Joint Intelligence Organisation in Australia, and handed to the Secretary a paper on this subject for circulation to the Committee.
