There was general agreement with the terms of this draft telegram. THE COMMITTEE:(a) Invited the Foreign Office to obtain diplomatic clearance for these flights on the lines of the telegram which they proposed to send to H.M. Ambassador, Athens. (b) Instructed the Secretary to inform the Joint Intelligence Committee, Middle East, accordingly. CONFIDENTIAL 3. UNITED STATES INTEREST IN INDUSTRIAL CONCERNS IN THE UNITED KINGDOM. CAPTAIN LIDDELL said that a report had been received from a representative of his Department who had recently visited, on security matters, a factory in the United Kingdom engaged in the electrical industry, to the effect that enquiries had been made for certain information at this factory by a visiting American.
