aircraft industry was today producing 1,000 aircraft a mo### The Soviet Union was unlikely to run into any great difficulties in the production of the 1,000 Super-Fortresses and 1,000 strategic jet aircraft plus reserves which had been envisaged in J.I.C.(49) 10 (Final) as being available to her in 1957. Regarding the casualty rate, the only data available was from the last war. The Air Ministry were seeking the opinion of the Operational Staff as to what modifications to this existing data should be made, taking into consideration the type of Russian bomber envisaged and the type of fighter the Royal Air Force would have in service in 1957.
