The Committee took note of a telegram from the Joint Intelligence Committee (Germany)ø reviewing the situation in Germany at the 26th October, 1948. Certain additional items of intelligence were also considered. THE COMMITTEE:Maintained their view that there was at present no evidence of preparedness by the Russians for an offensive in the near future. ø J.I.C./7017/13. 3. COMMUNIST INFLUENCE IN THE FAR EAST. SECRET. (Previous reference: J.I.C.(48) 73rd Meeting, Minute 9). THE COMMITTEE had before them a Minute by the Secretary+ covering a report by the Joint Intelligence Committee (Far East) on Communist influence in the Far East.
