THE COMMITTEE:Maintained their view that there was at present no evidence of definite preparations by the Russians for an offensive in the near future. (TOP SECRET). 4. SCALE OF ENEMY AIR ATTACK ON THE UNITED KINGDOM. THE COMMITTEE had before them a Minute by the Secretary+ covering an estimate of the scale of enemy air attack on the United Kingdom, 1956-1960, which had been prepared by the Royal Artillery Directorate of the War Office as a basis for anti-aircraft planning.
