2. EVIDENCE OF CONTRAVENTION OF THE POTSDAM AGREEMENT. (Previous reference:J.I.C.(47) 15th Meeting (0) Minute 3). THE COMMITTEE had before them a Minute+ by the Secretary covering a Minute by the Air Ministry and an enclosure from the Foreign Office suggesting that, in the interests of conformity, the Joint Intelligence Committee, Germany, should be asked to provide information of Russian violation of the Potsdam Agreement for which the Foreign Office had asked. BRIGADIER BOUCHER, while agreeing that the request by the Foreign Office should be met by asking the Joint Intelligence Committee, Germany, to furnish a report, suggested that reservations should be made to safeguard sources of intelligence and to avoid irregular activities, which were being carried out in known and accessable locations, being moved to areas from where information would be difficult to obtain.
