Subsequently, in view of the completion of the Joint Planning report earlier than had been anticipated, the Committee had agreed to withdraw the Terms of Reference to the Joint Intelligence Staff. The Foreign Office would, as requested by the Chiefs of Staff, be replying to the further request for information, and they would be consulting the Joint Intelligence Committee in so doing. In discussion it was pointed out that copies of all preliminary drafts by the Joint Planning Staff involving the intelligence aspect were shown to the Joint Intelligence Staff, and that copies of the draft reports were sent to the Directors of Intelligence.
