TURNEY said that the requirements of the Joint Scientific and Joint Technical Intelligence Committees covered any scientists or technical personnel actively concerned in research and development in the defence field and any other personnel who might have information regarding future intentions in this matter. The Joint Committees could, if desired, prepare a detailed list of the categories in Which they would be interested, but this would be lengthy. BRIGADIER BOUCHER produced a list covering the War Office requirements and explained that it generally covered first and second grade staff officers in Operations, Intelligence and Staff Duties and other highly placed officers who might be expected to know details of future strategy and policy.
