In discussion the following points were made :(i) Annex B should be circulated as a separate, though closely related, report*, and should be preceded by a summary on the lines of that suggested by the Foreign Office. (ii) Annex A should be confined solely to Soviet strategic intentions and would, accordingly, begin at the existing paragraph 43 with a suitable lead-in. (iii) General agreement was expressed, subject to certain minor alterations, to the amendments proposed by the Service Directors of Intelligence and the Joint Intelligence Staff.
