Continuing, MR. HOW said that the question for consideration by the J.I.C. was the degree of importance to be attached to the necessity of keeping quantities secret, bearing in mind that if restrictions were imposed to ensure absolute secrecy there would probably be an adverse effect on the production of uranium. It was the opinion of the Official Committee that details of the output of individual mines would eventually leak out and that, therefore, if secrecy impeded the raising of capital, the necessity for production should override security considerations.
