THE COMMITTEE :(a) Agreed that it would be desirable for an appreciation, of the effect of the state of Palestine during the next year on Emergency Plans to be undertaken when events in Palestine were clearer, and instructed the Secretary to raise the matter for further consideration in about one month's time. (b) Instructed the Secretary to request the Joint Intelligence Committee, Washington, to inform the American Joint Staffs of the action it was proposed to take, and that in the meantime the forecast+ prepared for the Joint Planning Staff on the situation likely to develop in Palestine after 15th May, 1948, could be taken as representing the British estimate of the worst case.
