Americans carrying out this survey was still awaited, and to relate this matter to the requirement for a beach survey might raise certain difficulties. He recommended, therefore, that the two surveys should be treated separately, and he suggested a draft rewording accordingly. General agreement was expressed with this suggestion. MR. WATSON explained that the suggestion from the Middle East to include Eritrea and Somaliland in the list of priorities had not been accepted ince it was considered unlikely that there would ever be an operational requirement to use the beaches.
