THE ORIGINAL IS RETAINED UNDER SECTION 3 (4) OF THE PUBLIC RECORDS ACT agreed with the views expressed by Lieut.Commander Welsh, and said that it might be possible to obtain information on enquiries for the purchase of this equipment in foreign countries. While this might be comparatively easy in Holland and to a lesser extent in Switzerland, it might be difficult to do so in Sweden. In discussion it was agreed that the need for retarding foreign research and development in the atomic field was overriding and that such loss of intelligence as would result from imposing control should be accepted.
