LIEUT.—COLONEL ANDERSON said that at present the numbers of ex-German officers who were allowed to join the uniformed services was strictly limited and amounted to only about 5%. He considered that this restriction was necessary since it was known that Hitler drew a large number of officers from these uniformed Services. Although this restriction was not mentioned in the Foreign Office letter he considered that it should be mentioned in the report with a recommendation that it should remain in force.
