Staff for their consideration; meanwhile, in order to implement the existing policy of the Chiefs of Staff it was necessary to restrict the contacts which Indian and Pakistani Liaison Officers could make within departments and establishments and that it was, therefore, necessary that all requests for information or visits should be passed through some central liaison section within departments. Should it be necessary to explain these restrictions, the Liaison Officers could be informed that the arrangements were made in order to assist departments in ensuring sufficient co-ordination and to prevent requests for information being directed to the wrong quarter, until it was possible to make more permanent arrangements.
