1. MEETING WITH LORD ISMAY OF WORMINGTON. LORD ISMAY gave an account of conditions and events in India. THE SUB-COMMITTEE thanked Lord Ismay for giving them a most valuable account. 2. FORECAST OF WORLD SITUATION 1956/60. (Previous reference: J.I.C.(47) 5th Meeting (0) Minute 3) THE SUB-COMMITTEE had before them a Minute* from the secretary covering a copy of a letter from the Director of the Joint Intelligence Bureau on the possibility of providing an estimate of the economic capabilities of the British Commonwealth and the United States of America in 1956/60.
