anti-Russian opinion in America, was gradually losing ground and was likely to disappear before very long. He thought that +he Soviet leaders would observe this tendency which would tend increase their obsession that they were liable to attack. e considered that such obsession might lead to a danger of war although he considered that the Soviet leaders would wish to avoid war for the next 20 years, by which time they would be so strong that there would then be no danger of war. MAJOR GENERAL TEMPLER said that he thought the Soviet leaders were probably still frightened of aggression and that it was correct to say that this was an important motive in their present efforts to gain control of other countries.
