AIR VICE MARSHAL PENDRED said that Air Attaches in Sweden were in a more favourable position regarding facilities than their Military colleagues. He believed that Norway and Denmark were of the opinion that it would not be worthwhile to offer resistance in the event of invasion by a major Power. Norwegian desires to limit the activities of our Mission, and their refusal to grant us facilities for aerial survey, supported this belief. Moreover, although the armed forces in Sweden bore a dislike to a certain Power, Sweden showed no signs of being likely to deviate from her policy of neutrality.
