AIR VICE MARSHAL PENDRED said that, from the Air Ministry point of view, he could see no risk in acceding to the request by the Secretary of State for India, since R.A.F. figures in India were constantly decreasing. BRIGADIER HIRSCH said that an announcement had already been made in this country that we would not disclose the total strength of British troops in individual theatres. If we were to make an exception in the case of India, it might be taken as a precedent for further claims for disclosures of this sort.
