3. ACQUISITION OF TECHNICAL INFORMATION BY A CERTAIN POWER (Previous Reference: J.I.C. (47) 1st Meeting (0), Minute 2, Conclusion (a)) THE SUB-COMMITTEE had before them a Minuteby the Secretary, covering a report by the Security Service on the activities and employment of Russian technicians in this country, submitted for their consideration in connection with the proposed report by the Sub-Committee to the Chiefs of Staff on this subject. MR. HAYTER recalled that replies had now been received* from all those addressed by the Sub-Committee on this matter, and he suggested that the facts should now be summarised in one consolidated report to the Chiefs of Staff, stressing the dangers of the present situation and recommending such action as the Sub-Committee considered desirable.
