Communist activity in the Borneo territories is mainly among Chinese community, particularly in their schools, where an increasing number of youths and students are being encouraged to complete their education in China. 8. Concern is felt in Sarawak at the amount of Chinese propaganda material in circulation. In the oilfields area of Brunei where a fair proportion of the labour force is imported from Hong Kong, communist posters and leaflets started to circulate openly towards the end of 1952.
