TOP SECRET GUARD ANNEX BRIEF ON SWEDISH DEFENCE 1. This brief has been prepared with the object of:(a) giving the United Kingdom view of the probable course of events in Scandinavia in the event of global war; (b) suggesting measures which we consider Sweden could usefully take to increase her powers of resistance. PROBABLE COURSE OF EVENTS IN SCANDINAVIA 2. The circumstances in which Sweden would be called upon to defend herself could hardly fail to be those of global war. Her defence problems should therefore be considered in relation to the whole field 0 N.A.T.O.
