Evasion, Escape and Rescue in Korea

1 Jan 1952

TOP SECRET DRAFT COS(W) Your JSM 27. Please inform the U.S. Joint Chiefs of Staff of our pleasure at their agreement to the despatch of a British Evasion and Escape unit to Korea. We accept their provisions and views stated in paragraphs 1 and 2 of their reply. We note their views in paragraph 3 and look forward to the matter being raised again in the light of the initial operations of the unit. 2. For your own information, we are naturally disappointed at the American attitude in paragraph 3. We cannot, however, allow this to delay the establishment of our unit in Korea and so will let the matter rest for the time being.
