2 SECRET 5. Separate action is being initiated to consider the possibility of reducti in any industrials employed by the Service Attachés as a charge to Service Votes. 6. An examination of the costs and numbers of the Service Attachés and staffs of the three Fighting Services revealed that the Royal Navy had, in fact, a much smaller overall representation than the other two Services, and that there was little scope for judicious economy. Effect of Proposed Reductions 7. The overall effect of the proposed economies of the three Service Departments produces a reduction in costs of £178,508 from a total of £1,101,067.
