TOP SECRET GUARD ANNEX INTELLIGENCE FOR N.A.T.O. We examine below the intelligence requirements of the Standing Group and its major commands, and the machinery for supplying that intelligence. We have not examined the converse problem of the supply of intelligence from N.A.T.O. commands to National Staffs. In war-time N.A.T.O. commands would be among the most important of our sources of intelligence and we hope, that, even in peace-time, they will provide us with valuable material. But the flow of intelligence in this direction can hardly be expected to start until commands such as S.H.A.P.E.
