1 Jul 1949

TOP SECRET 5. The German plant at Dyhernfurth for the manufacture of Tabun, together with the partially erected pilot plant for Sarin, fell into Russian hands early in 1945. It seems clear that a considerable proportion of the Dyhernfurth plant was dismantled and removed to the U.S.S.R. There is evidence that this plant has arrived at Factory 91, at BEKETOVKA, near STALINGRAD, where we believe that a plant for quantity production of at least one of the nerve gases in in process of erection. The evidence does not permit any conclusion as to which nerve gas might be manufactured nor as to the stage reached now.
