Communist Influence in the Far East. Report by the Joint Intelligence Committee

1 Jan 1949

SECRET Tactics 4. There has been no major change in communist tactics throughout the Far East. The example of the C.C.P's successes still lend great encouragement to those communists who have taken up arms and whose enthusiasm showed signs of flagging. Effects of the C.C.P. successes 5. Apart from the undoubted psychological effect of the C.C.P. successes upon the politically undeveloped masses of Asia, there are more material repercussions. 6. The earliest repercussions are likely to occur in neighbouring countries which have large Chinese minorities and C.C.P.
