PERIODIC INTELLIGENCE SUMMARIES FOR THE WESTERN EUROPE COMMANDERS-IN-CHIEF COMMITTEE FIRST QUARTERLY SUMMARY ANNEX A MORALE PART I Soviet Armed Forces The overall situation regarding morale in the Soviet Armed Forces is that the morale and bearing of the armed forces in the interior, certainly in the Moscow and Odessa areas are of a high order while the morale of the armed forces on occupational duties is generally low. 2. The chief reasons for the high morale of the forces in the interior are:(a) Accessibility of their families, social life and contact with women.
