Security Aspects of Possible Staff with France. Report by the Joint Intelligence Talks Committee

(e) Any staff talks which may be held with France can be considered secure only if information concerning British plans for the defence of Western Europe is issued only for the personal use of the officers concerned and may only be divulged orally to their immediate superiors, and provided that it can be guaranteed that they are not Communists or fellow travellers. 4. Recommendations. We recommend that the Chiefs of Staff :(a) endorse our report and instruct the Secretary to forward copies to the Minister of Defence, the Foreign Secretary, the Ministry of Supply, the Chiefs of Staff of Australia, Canada, New Zealand and South Africa, and to the U.S.
