Economy in Manpower and Expenditure of Foreign Currency in Connection with Service Attaches

1 Sep 1947

Amalgamation of Duties. 4. (a) Washington. The Senior Air Attache has now taken over the additional duties of Staff Officer Administration, R.A.F. Delegation, thus making a reduction of one Wing Commander in Washington. (b) Nanking. We consider that the Military Attache (Brigadier) and Air Attache (air Commodore) posts should be amalgamated under the present Military Attache, the present Air Attache being replaced by an Assistant Air Attache (Wing Commander). On completion of tenure of the present Military Attache, the joint appointment might then be held by a suitably qualified air Attache.
